He splits vocal duties with Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn (“King For A Day”), letlive.’s Jason Butler (“Tangled In the Great Escape”) and last, but certainly not least, Oh No Fiasco’s Lindsey Stamey (“Hold On Till May”). While Fuentes has tamed his vocals to the point of near perfection on CWTS, where he truly shines is when he shares his spot in the limelight - not once, but three separate times. ![]() This is somewhat understandable, considering the following the frontman has created for himself since forming PTV back in 2006. After listening to CWTS, it is quite obvious that PTV have found their niche in this ever-evolving music scene.Īny preconceived notions will lean towards Vic Fuentes and his extremely unique vocal chords stealing the show on CWTS. Vic’s brother, Mike Fuentes, does a stellar job on drums throughout the entire record, conducting a solid yet rambunctious foundation for each and every song. PTV covered such a vast amount of ground musically with Collide With the Sky, it’s almost incomprehensible at times.įrom lead guitarist Tony Perry’s signature Spanish accented guitar riffs (“Bulls In the Bronx”), to frontman Vic Fuentes’ surprisingly ingenious use of keys (“Tangled In the Great Escape”), PTV are at their musical finest on CWTS. It entices the listener to the edge of their seats with each song, only to leave them yearning for more once it’s over. The albumamalgamates the finest moments of both previous releases to create an adventurous masterpiece sure to please both pop music lovers and metal heads alike.Ĭollide With the Sky is a very intriguing album. Would PTV go with a somewhat heavier sound, a la A Flair For the Dramatic, or would they lean towards a more radio friendly route like Selfish Machines?īut all in all, Pierce the Veil has reinvented themselves on Collide With the Sky. When Pierce The Veil burst onto the scene in 2007, nobody expected the small San Diego post-hardcore band to become anything close to what they would soon become.Īfter releasing two highly dynamic albums, A Flair For the Dramatic and Selfish Machines, on Equal Vision Records and then making the leap to Fearless Records, fans weren’t sure what area of the ever-expanding genre realm the band would delve into for their latest full-length, Collide With the Sky. ![]()
